Omikron has certainly made an impact on the aviation meeting industry, at least in some regions. Only a handful aviation events remain planned in Europe and Canada in January and February.
- About 30 events has so far been rescheduled to later dates in the spring or postponed until after the summer
- More events will most probably be postponed according to organisers in Europe and Canada
- The events in the US and Middle East are remaining rock solid with good attendance levels, where only two events has been postponed
Analysis:
It’s difficult to see where this is going. My bet would be that the events will be very densely planned for right before after the summer, when we can expect low spread of the Coronavirus if the Covid-related disease trends from previous years will be repeated.
